Getting Hitched

Posted on Fri Aug 17th, 2018 @ 7:08pm by Lieutenant Commander Arturo S'Rohass & Commander Leigh Jacobs & Lieutenant Xiulan Song

Mission: Repairs and Reprimands
Location: Jacobs' Quarters
Timeline: Current

Arturo adjusted the collar of his dress whites as he and Xiulan stood before the door of Commander Leigh Jacobs' quarters. He glanced at Xiulan.

"Are your ready?" Arturo said. Arturo was absolutely sure he was ready. "I'm going to knock on the door in 3...2..."

"Enter, Commander," Leigh called from her quarters, setting down a holo novel as she stood from her chair.

Arturo's ears went back in embarrassment. He wondered how long Leigh had been aware that he and Xiulan were standing there. He entered Leigh's quarters with Xiulan.

"Captain!" he said, proudly. "I have asked Xiulan to marry me, something I should have done some time ago, and she has done me the honor of agreeing to become my wife! We were...we were hoping that you might be willing to officiate our wedding for us."

Leigh grinned. "Congratulations Commander and lieutenant!" She paused for a moment as she thought about her duty as a captain to preside of marriages. "I would be honored to officiate your wedding. When is the big day?"

"Uhm...today?" Arturo said. "We're going to throw an after party next shore leave and invite some family and friends, and of course our colleagues from the the Valiant, but we were hoping to get married as soon as possible. We've waited a long time to come to this point, and we don't want to wait."

"Well, talk about short notice," Leigh joked with a grin. She stood and donned her uniform jacket before walking over to a desk and grabbing a PaDD out of a drawer. "Do you have the rings?"

"Uh, I'm from China, using rings isn't really a big thing there, plus I don't really do jewelry... so he made me a comb," Xiulan admitted sheepishly, gesturing to the jade dragon/phoenix hairfork holding her bun in place. "Guess Caitians don't really do rings either, do they?" she realized suddenly.

"No," Arturo said. "We don't use rings. I'll just mark you with my scent every morning after you shower and before you go on duty."

"Oh dear God," Jacobs whispered to herself with a chuckle.

Xiulan just shrugged. "Sounds good to me," she said with a grin. "So, we doing this?"

"Absolutely," Arturo said. "Captain, could we go to your Ready Room and do this right away?"

"Of course, commander," Leigh replied as she stepped out of her quarters and headed for her Ready Room, which was just down the hall. With her quarters and ready room on Deck One, along with the bridge, she felt as if she was always on duty.

"Thank you, Captain!" Arturo said, as he followed Leigh to the Ready Room with Xiulan in tow.

Xiulan said nothing, holding tight to Arturo's arm as he escorted her inside the office. She was equal parts nervous and excited, and some part of her still couldn't believe this was happening. But she was happy, even if she didn't show it much; her ever present scowl was nowhere to be seen as the corners of her lips were pulled up into the tiniest hint of a smile.

"Ok, shall we begin," Jacobs said, standing in front of her desk.

So there they were, Arturo and Xiulan, dressed in their dress whites in front of the Captain, ready to get married. Arturo took Xiulan's hands and faced her, but she freed one to reach up to touch Arturo's face, to feel the expressions that he made as they were bound together.

Jacobs looked at the PaDD in her hand and then back at the two officers in front of her. "Commander S'Rohass, do you take Lieutenant Song as your wife. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do you part?"

Arturo smiled and a tear formed in the corner of his eye and rolled down onto Xiulan's hand where she touched his face. Finally. Finally.

"I do," Arturo said. "I most wholeheartedly do."

Jacobs then looked at Lieutenant Song. "Lieutenant Song, do you take Commander S'Rohass as your husband. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do you part?"

"I do," Xiulan said with a lopsided grin, repeating herself in a softer tone. "I do..."

"Then by the power invested in me by the Federation of Planets, I hereby announce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride," Jacobs recited with a huge grin on her face.

Arturo leaned in to kiss his bride, then dipped her back in his version of the famous WWII photo of the sailor kissing the woman at a parade for returning soldiers and sailors. And he went on kissing her...and kissing her...and kissing her...seemingly he had forgotten where they were and that anyone was in the room with them.

Lots and lots of tongue, Arturo and Xiulan certainly weren't afraid of making out right in front of their CO! Xiulan had been glad that Jacobs had decided to forgo all the pomp and circumstance of some long speech, choosing instead to keep it short and sweet.

"By the way, I'm not taking your name," Xiulan said when she forced their lips apart, only for them to come crashing together for another tongue-filled kiss a second later. They certainly were an odd pair...

Arturo came up for air, or tried to, in order to thank the captain.

"Thank...mmmm...you...mmm...ver...mmmm...y much...Capt...mmmm...tain," Arturo said. "We...Xiulan...why don't...we...go back to our suite?"

"Sounds good," Xiulan said before stealing one more kiss. "First person naked gets to be on top!" she declared, practically pulling him towards the door.

"You're on!" Arturo said as he ran out of the room after Xiulan, leaving Leigh standing alone in her Ready Room.

Jacobs simply smiled and shook her head as she watched her XO and Chief of Operations rush out of the door.
